Three questions about trees

Banyan tree in front of the window

Last night, the wind blew all night. The banyan tree in front of my window was not damaged by the violent northwest wind last night. At this time, they gently extended the branches, slowly stroked my window mullions, gently swayed in front of my eyes, it seemed that last night’s violent wind was frost, and they had nothing to do with them.

This is a large-leaved banyan tree with a tall canopy, which is just above my window. Those branches that stretch out flat and diagonally grow up frantically. The large olive-shaped leaves on that branch look green and green from a distance, but you can take a closer look, there are differences. The old leaves on the branches are dark green and thick. The tender leaves of the branches, the green of the goose yellow, occasionally a few, and a little reddish. All the leaves are particularly smooth and clean, never sagging, but they are basically flat, like human hands, spreading diagonally upward, like receiving the essence of the sun, moon and stars.

God did give it a reward. In the morning, when the sun shines first, the layer of hoarfrost that has condensed on the leaves in the cold night gradually melts into a thin layer of clear water, and then gathers into crystal drops of water, gliding down the leaf veins, gliding down until it drops “Bah,” it broke into the mud and melted into the mud. The blades immediately rose to greet the sun and enjoy a new day of life. The sunlight danced on the leaves, shining a trace of light that people didn’t notice.

One night northwest wind, Wanmu all withered. The first is Ginkgo, shaking off a body of gold-like wealth, spreading a small fan of golden ground, bare trunks and branches, and suffering alone in the cold wind. The maple is behind, and the shredded leaves of persimmon are also littered, the huge tree crown, and only the messy branches remaining, reflected in the dark sky, writing the eyes of loneliness. Then, there is the five-claw maple, the bright red flag of that tree, which is also yellow in the cold wind, until it pales, until it fades into a lonely dry branch of a tree. The ginkgo, red maple, and maple, which are talked about by people, are now lonely. What about Lagerstroemia indica and Bauhinia that used to be popular in spring? They changed their flaming redness in the spring, covered with black powder, and shivered in the cold wind in a morbid state.

Only the banyan tree, only the green, stands alone in the community, stands alone, supports the rare scenery in winter, and shows its unyielding will and tenacious vitality. They stand proudly in the cold northwest wind, in the harsh frost and snow, grow unyieldingly, and selflessly dress up people’s lives. Fortunately, there are these few banyan trees, plus a few clusters of Doolin, a few osmanthus trees, turtledoves, starlings, partridges, thrushes, magpies, and many unknown birds. Deep in the leaves still sing: “Cuckoo-tweeting!” “Church-ah!”

In Fucheng, where I live, there are many banyan trees. The street trees on both sides of the Changhong main road are the small leaves of Rong. There are rows in the left and right, intertwined, leafy, tall canopy covering the north and south arteries of Mianyang City, forming a unique green landscape. I have carefully observed the trees, and there are many air roots hanging under the branches. Those air roots help the big tree absorb nutrients from the air. Some air roots have grown into trunks, or have become integrated with trunks. Ability to absorb, be inclusive, in order to have a vast weather!

Dayi Rong is planted in Wuyi Square in Fucheng. From a distance, it looks like a giant green mushroom. From a close up, it looks like a giant green umbrella. There is a single plant, the shade of the canopy shelters a lawn. There are contiguous branches, staggered branches and grow into a forest. There are rows, which just happen to form a towering green wall. In summer, chilling under the banyan tree is the best choice for people.

Xishu in winter is cold and extremely cold. Although I was wearing a thick down jacket, the elements of my life that resisted the cold had dried up. Not to mention that human beings are plants and trees in the community. Isn’t ginkgo, maple, and maple trembling in the cold wind? Life is sad for winter because winter is too harsh. But today, this banyan tree in front of the window gave me new revelation: Struggle and Cold! Continue to grow in adversity, regardless of spring, summer, autumn and winter!

I know that the banyan tree is more precious and honorable than Nan Yu Zhang, but ordinary people are more able to bring people enjoyment. The banyan tree should be produced in the southeast coast. Fuzhou people respect it as a city tree, and the city is abbreviated as “Ficus”. Although I have not been to Fuzhou, although the banyan tree is not the city tree of Fucheng, I like it because it is evergreen all year round, because it is not afraid of the northwest wind, because it does not fear the cold and grow bravely.

I like the banyan tree that appears in front of my window every day. It will accompany me and encourage me to spend spring, summer, autumn and winter one after another.

Rhododendron on the Loess Beam

The mountain at the junction of Pingwu and Jiuzhaigou, commonly known as the loess beam, is named for its soil color. I don’t know when, or who, I renamed it as Rhododendron Mountain, which is famous for its beautiful azaleas.

In the past, our countrymen did not call this kind of flower azalea. Because every branch of it grows into a “Ya” shape of a horn, and it is called a horn tree, and its flowers are also called horn flowers. The shape of the horn is like a slingshot fork. Some people call it a slingshot tree. I later learned that it still has such a beautiful name as “Cuckoo”. It is said that the Northwestern people also called it Yingshanhong.

There are many varieties of rhododendrons, and Jiang, the forestry bureau, said that this kind of alpine rhododendron, which grows at high altitudes and has thick leaves, is a bit like the leaves of rubber trees raised by people in the city. Kind of magnolia leaves. Rhododendron has high requirements on the ecological environment and only grows in alpine mountains without pollution. Rhododendron blooms in mid-spring every year, the flowering period is not long, the flowers are huge, red, or pink. Many animals in the forest like to eat its petals, such as takin.

Every year in the middle of spring, azaleas bloom on the slopes of Huangtuliang Mountain and the cliffs. The white clouds, the blue sky, the green pine and the green grass set off the bright and beautiful flowers of the rhododendron, the overwhelming bright red and pink, it seems that even the breeze is dyed into colorful, it is simply a fairyland! Appreciate carefully, the tender petals are adorned with pearl-like dewdrops, the dewdrops reflect the sunlight and are crystal clear. Butterflies flew up and down among the flowers, dancing gracefully, bees roaming freely on the petals, buzzing, singing sweetly, tits singing in the woods, Xu is calling friends, the color of the loess beams, dance, use The singing voice interprets the magic of nature and presents people with beautiful scenery.

I have climbed the Huangtuliang to admire the azaleas many times, and I have also visited the azaleas in the Wanglang Nature Reserve. It is said that there is a place called Moziping over Huya. There are thousands of acres of rhododendron forest. After mid-spring, it will open from low to high along the altitude and last for a long time. But it was a steep mountain with an altitude of more than three thousand meters. The remote location was extremely inconvenient for transportation, so I have never been there. Azalea is a beautiful thing. Wang Anshi has said long ago that most beautiful things are in danger. People have to work hard to appreciate and pursue her.

In the loess grassland, I also saw small alpine azaleas growing in series, low, green, clumps, clumps, clusters scattered in the green grass. The small red flowers that are opening are hidden in the branches and leaves. Its leaves are denser and smaller, only the size of the fingers, and the flowers are much smaller than the flowers of Rhododendron grandiflorum. Its open posture is also reserved and subtle, and it is not at all public.

Rhododendron is a special kind of tree flower, especially because of its name, the same name as animal plants. We know that there is a kind of bird, also called cuckoo, whose singing is very beautiful. Therefore, when talking about cuckoos, it is not clear whether they refer to flowers or birds.

Heart of beauty in everyone. There are rhododendrons in plants and rhododendrons in animals. Many people with the surname Du also like to name their daughters rhododendrons. I hope their daughters are as beautiful as rhododendrons and clever as rhododendron birds. The word “Du” and the word “Cuckoo” are put together, which is suitable for flowers, birds and pleasant.

It is nothing wrong to let beautiful azaleas beautify your life. Some people carefully dig up the small saplings in the rhododendron forest, together with the soil of Datuo, carefully pack it, carefully take it home, plant it in their own flower pots or gardens, so that they can enjoy it without leaving the house in the next year Beautiful azaleas. A few years later, I remembered this matter and asked the friend, he sighed: “Ah, planting is not alive! That hall is too squeamish! I planted for a few years in a row, and did not plant alive!

I once saw a few azalea saplings in a garden in the Xiangshu village of Baima Township. More than half a meter tall, a few leaves hung on the bare trunk, seeming to be dying. The owner told me with a strong white horse voice: “It’s alive, but it doesn’t grow, it doesn’t bloom, it’s scorched, it’s hard to fix, and I don’t know what the reason is!”

The ancients once believed that “oranges over Huaihuai are trifoliate oranges”, which means that plants are forced to migrate to other places and their attributes may be changed. But the cuckoo doesn’t just change its attributes! After it was forced to migrate to a different place, it was passive, and even fought with death!

Forester Lao Jiang said that Rhododendron chooses the ecological environment because beautiful things are also afraid of the pollution of this world. Oh, it turns out that the rhododendron is clean and quiet, unwilling to go down the mountain, unwilling to fall into the hustle and bustle of red dust, unwilling to be harassed by vocal vocals, and even unwilling to contaminate with the dirty.

The ancient philosopher Zhuang Zhou once had the theory that “it would rather tail in the mud instead of being offered a shrine to enjoy the so-called glory and wealth”. I understand that azaleas prefer to grow lonely in the alpine mountains to withstand wind, frost, rain and snow, rather than being planted in the fertile and warm gardens of the city below the mountain for blasphemy.

Isn’t this a revelation given by plants? Is this not a noble character?

Rhododendron roots in the high mountains, sticks to the locality, sticks to its nature, does not admire glory and vanity, it is the spirit we should strongly promote today!

Davidia involucrata

The giant panda is a rare animal, known as the “living fossil” in the animal kingdom, because it is on the verge of extinction. It is well known that things are rare and expensive. What about “Pandas” in plants? That is Davidia involucrata.

The high mountains in Fuyuan Mountain are called Dingding, Xuebaoding, Drum Drum, Guanmao Ding, and Jiaoding Ding. The highest peak of Yaocong Mountain, the nearest county seat, is also called Luanting. Although Davidia involucrata is a rare plant, it can be often seen in forests called “tops” over two thousand kilometers. However, we did not know that it was a precious body in the past, not even the name of Davidia involucrata. We call it dove flower or dove tree, it should be its flower, like Ling Fei’s white dove.

The dove tree is a perennial deciduous tree, tall, lush, dish-shaped broad oval leaves, with edging, verdant, green, and occasionally young leaves with a slight goose yellow. Its flowers, white, the size of a wine glass, like flying pigeons. But the flowering period was very short, and it opened one after another on May 1st, and Xie Shiyin returned in two or three days.

Before the development of rural tourism, we only knew that this plant was rare and the forestry department focused on protection, but it was not linked to people ’s tourist visits. A few years ago, a friend was in charge of the paddy field under the Yaocong Mountain. In order to promote rural tourism, he used a piece of Davidia involucrata forest to write an article. I only got some contact and understanding about Davidia involucrata.

At the beginning of April of that year, friends invited cultural people from the county to visit the mountains and discuss how to use this piece of Davidia involucrata forest to develop rural tourism. The design includes newly built forest paths and how to hold the Davidia inflorescence festival. I was fortunate enough to walk through the forest and saw the tree buds full of trees.

It was a hillside east of Yaocong, 20 kilometers away from the county seat. On the Panshan Road leading to Xutang Township in the county seat, hundreds of paulownia trees were connected together. The roads up and down the hill are very steep, and there is a small spring in the middle of the wood, if there is none. The Davidia involucrata trees are only as thick as the hand shaft, and the large ones have porcelain pots. There are single plants growing, and there are four or five plants growing together. The trunk is straight and up to 20 meters high. A few clumps of blue spines and yellow spines under the tree are growing vigorously. In the distance there are tits singing: “Chi-twitter!” I was reveling in the fresh air of the natural oxygen bar. On the nearby Davidia involucrata tree, I suddenly flew a few mountain cockroach birds, fluttering and scaring me. They dragged their long, colorful tails, “Gah–yeah!” It seemed like they didn’t welcome us.

On April 28, the Davidia inflorescence festival in Shuitian Township was held as scheduled. That was the first Davidia inflorescence festival in the county. In the morning, the village was slightly more spacious on the side of the road, set up a stage, installed more advanced audio equipment, and invited literary and artistic teams inside and outside the county to organize a literary and artistic performance under the forest. People sing and dance. National, modern. The sound of singing and music, echoing in the forest of Yaocong Mountain, is an unprecedented excitement in this forest. The Davidia inflorescences also bloom just right. In the early summer sunshine, they resemble thousands of white pigeons, flying and dwelling on the tops of green trees.

The forest path has been repaired. Steps have been dug on the gentle slope, stone steps have been built, and fences have been tied up with bamboo and tree poles. People picked up from one side and circled down from the other. There are a lot of tourists, and the path appears crowded, and some people are crowded out of the guardrail. It happened that there was a grassy slope outside the fence, with wild strawberries and wild vegetables growing inside. When the wild strawberry is ripe, the fruit of the size of the chopsticks is white, and some fruits are hidden in the grass, blinking like stars. There are also many snake berries mixed in between, and a few bright reds are dotted in Bai Huangao. The snakeberry is as big as a finger, colorful, but poisonous, and cannot be eaten. Many seemingly beautiful things are often poisonous, such as mandala flowers. But I have tasted a few snakeberries, sweet and not poisoned. The white wild strawberry tastes so good that it attracts people to scramble over the railing, pick it everywhere, and even rush to grab it. Some female tourists look for wild vegetables on the edge of the stream, dig up the roots of the ears, and dig the appetizer. It only took me half a day to distress a clean mountain slope, which made me feel distressed!

Many so-called openings made at the expense of ecological costs will always make people feel sorry.

Davidia involucrata is known as the “living fossil” in the plant kingdom, only because of its rareness, it is only suitable for research as a specimen and as a treasure plant protection. Why open up tourism? It’s not necessarily good to see its beauty. The flower color is single, white, too pure, and then with green leaves, it is just primed. The branches full of flowers are too high, so that the flowers are not very clear. It is really a “can be seen from a distance without being playable”. Taking a commemorative photo is not too good, and it is not very suitable for ordinary Chinese. Mass aesthetic. Like azaleas, the colors are rich and gorgeous, and they can be viewed from afar or admired.

Think calmly, the slogan of harmony between man and nature is really difficult to implement. Openness and protection are a contradiction. Rare animals and plants are only because of their rarity and because they are on the verge of extinction, then our focus should be on protection, not necessarily on over-exploitation.

In the past, “living fossils” lived in Xuebaoding Yaocong Mountain and were “raised in a deep girl’s ignorance.” But now, as animal living fossil giant pandas, artificial breeding technology is very mature, and many are bred. Davidia involucrata, a plant living fossil, according to the data, has also been successfully cultivated in a certain area in Shaanxi Province. Any mysterious thing may go down the altar, and so do Davidia. After N years, people and nature are more harmonious, and it is no longer necessary to drill into the deep forest to see the honor of the “living fossils”.

I originally wanted to type “rare animals and plants”. When I typed zhenxi on the computer, the input method immediately jumped out the word “cherish”. “Rare”, “Treasure”, homophonic, this is to remind us that we should cherish and cherish everything in front of us today, animals, plants, human beings, including our daily lives
