Three missions

Business is the organ of society. Businesses do not exist for themselves, but exist to achieve specific social goals, and exist to meet the specific needs of society, communities, and individuals. Conversely, management is the organ of the institution.
Management itself has no function at all. Management itself does not exist. If you leave the organization you are serving, management will cease to exist.
Next, we ask: What is management? First we must define management through the mission of management. The following three management missions, although inherently different, are equally important and cannot be neglected. Management must be able to implement these missions, so that the functions of the organization function properly and contribute:
  * Whether it is a business, hospital, or university Management must implement the specific goals and mission of the organization.
  * Make work productive and employees feel fulfilled.
  * Manage social influence and social responsibility.
  Mission One: Economic Performance
in the enterprise, vision and mission would mean economic performance. Other institutions, such as hospitals, churches, universities, and even the military, are constrained by economic performance. But in the enterprise, economic performance is the basic reason for its existence and the goal pursued. This does not mean that economic performance is the only mission of society, but that economic performance is the priority mission of society.
The more people satisfy the desire, the higher the emphasis on these missions, and the greater their dependence on the economic performance of the company. In every decision and action, business management must always and always put economic performance first. Only the economic results generated by enterprise management can prove the rationality of the existence and authority of the enterprise.
If business management does not produce economic results, then business management has failed. If the company can’t provide the goods at the price that the customer is willing to spend, and can’t provide services for the customers’ needs, then the company has failed. If the company can’t, or at least maintain, the wealth production capacity that matches the economic resources, then the company has failed.
Therefore, the primary definition of business management is the economic organs. In business management, every decision, every action, and every prudent consideration should be based on economic performance.
Mission Two: Let employees with a sense of accomplishment
enterprise only real resource is – people. Management is to promote the productivity of human resources. Management is the achievement of business performance through work. Therefore, motivating work to be productive is a necessary function of management. At the same time, institutions in today’s society are increasingly becoming platforms for individuals to earn a living, pursue social status, integrate into the community, and gain personal achievement and satisfaction. Therefore, it is not only more and more important to make employees feel fulfilled, but also to measure the weight of an organization’s performance, and thus gradually become an important mission of management.
Organizing work step by step is only the first step. The next step is even more difficult, and that is to make the work suitable for people – the logic of people and the logic of work are obviously very different. Giving employees a sense of accomplishment means treating people as having unique physical structures, psychological traits, talents, limitations, and organisms with unique patterns of action, suggesting that human resources must be considered “people” rather than “things” because People do not have any other resources, people have personality and citizenship, people care about the control of work, labor and capital, and the recognition of work effects.
Therefore, employees need responsibility, motivation, participation, satisfaction, rewards, rewards, promotion positions, and responsibilities. For employees, whether they are ordinary workers or executive vice presidents, they must earn a sense of accomplishment through work and service.
Mission three: social impact and social responsibility
of our institutions is not a separate existence, and no one is spared. Every institution is an organ of society and exists for the whole society. Commercial organizations are no exception. The criterion for judging the rationality of the existence of the enterprise is not the self-interest of the enterprise, but the social interest. The existence of a company is to supply goods and services to consumers, rather than providing jobs for employees and managers, and not distributing dividends to shareholders. Forgetting the management of this principle is not worthy of being called “management.”
In order to complete work, produce economic products, and provide services, companies must influence people, the community, and society. Businesses must have power and prestige for people (especially employees), and the individual goals of employees are neither in the enterprise nor in the enterprise. Employees must also have an impact on the community, because everyone is a neighbor, not only a resource for work and taxation, but also a manufacturer of waste and garbage.
But more and more phenomena show that people have expectations for the quality of life provided by business management. Therefore, the social influence of management companies is becoming the third important mission of management and the third dimension of management.
Three mission management while the implementation of
the above three missions must be implemented simultaneously in the same management operation, even we can not believe that any of them can dominate or mission requires more skill or ability.
Although performance must be in the first place, this is true, because this is the company’s goal and the reasons for existence, but if the work and staff are not properly managed, even the experienced president and executive, performance will not work. Increasing costs will make companies lose their competitiveness, and even create mutual resentment and struggle among employees at different levels, which will eventually lead to the inability of the entire enterprise to operate until it is embarrassing. Improper management of the social influence of the company will ultimately destroy the support of the society to the enterprise, and the enterprise itself will not escape bad luck.
These three missions each perform their duties. Business management enjoys an important position because companies are economic institutions; it is important to make work productive and to give employees a sense of accomplishment; because society is not an economic institution, society needs to rely on management for the realization of basic beliefs and values.
